SAARC Law Commission Regional Workshop:

With the assistance of World Bank the Law Commission arranged a regional workshop of SAARC Law Commissions in March 20-21, 1999 at the Hotel Sheraton. The theme of the conference was, "Capacity Enhancement of Law Commission: In Quest of a Regional Approach". All the Law Commissions of SAARC were invited. Bhutan and Maldives were not invited since they do not have Law Commission. At the workshop the importance of regional cooperation was emphasized for the capacity building of the Law Commissions of the SARRC. In the workshop, the Law Commission of Bangladesh was provisionally assigned to work as a forum of SAARC law Commission.
